Default Flt Lt R L F Day DFC

In my RAFA magazine is a letter from a gentleman who found the grave of this young man in Connelles, France where he was buried on 18 June 1944. He is asking if anyone who knew him or is a relative would like a copy of the photograph. I have emailed him to tell him I am putting this request for a)more information about this young man and b) anyone interested can contact me (unless he joins the forum himself) for the email address. I am interested this too... I have found that he was from 132 Sqn (for whom he was a pilot) and his full name is Robert Lionel Frank Day. Connelles is south east of Rouen so where was he going and and why?

    Default Thank you

Ta Dennis you are a star. Hopefully the person will see this and be able to use it. I will email him on Monday just in case he hasnt. Will have to see if there is an Assn for 132 Sqn and get him to contact them... Dont think I had my RAFRA list handy at the time.

    Hello,

He has a short bio and a portrait in "Men of the Battle of Britain" by Kenneth WYNN, and also in "Those Other Eagles". I translated them and send them to a fellow Frenchman who was interested in this grave in Connelles cemetery.

    Joss
