    Swung on take-off and hit trees, Castel Benito, Libya. Destroyed by fire.

    Crew (Alpha order):

    J/8194 F/O BUCKMAN RCAF
    - ? - W/O DIEMART RCAF
    1422833 LAC Ralph KING RAFVR (+ 10-7-1943)
    120980 F/O Victor Daniel POPE DFM RAFVR (DFM - 748267 - F/Sgt - 502 Sqn. - 24-4-42)*.
    1018022 LAC M RATTRAY
    635503 F/Sgt T TEASDALE
    1281864 Cpl D THOMAS
    AUS405610 Sgt (Pilot) Henry George WILSON RAAF - Seriously Injured, extensive burns.

    King buried Tripoli War Cemetery. Wilson RAAF, spent many months in hospital recovering from his injuries/burns. He survived the war.

    Same lists don't contain the two RCAF men, King or Pope in so far as I can see.

    Just poppping in this name to save people lookign him up, he si not the J S Teasdale above, different NCO number.

    937924 John Swinburne TEASDALE (163138).
    27th May 1944.

    I imagine if they were injured they were out of the war so they won't show up in LG.

    not necessarily, I'll email my chap in the L&AC, they can advise a mans name and serial number within their rules.

    This is the reply from LAC.

    I found Robert Hall Buckman but our database is not finding anyone with the surname of Diemart except in Navy. There are however several Diemert's in RCAF, do you have a service number for this person?

    Dennis,

    Firstly, I thank you for your efforts with the LAC, particularly on BUCKMAN. I have no service number for DIEMART/DIEMERT, and, as explained in my original post, some of the data could be corrupt.

    I have about a dozen files to get digitised at the NAA, when this one gets to the top of the pile again , I will do so.
