Default RAAF Casualties - Mysteries #2

    From Alan Storr files

"On the 28th February 1941, Wellington ED9109 crashed at 0215 hours at Mount Farm,
    Colchester, UK.
    Crew:
    RAAF 402654 Sgt C E Gilmour, (Observer)
    RAF Sgt Barker
    RAF Sgt Sadler
    RAF Sgt Pashley
    RAF Sgt Frith
Sgt Gilmour is buried in the Harwell Cemetery, UK.
Commonwealth War Graves and the above RAAF casualty file do not reveal whether the
rest of the crew survived the crash or not."

The Wellington Serial is obviously wrong, but I can't find a Wellington crash for this date!

    Any ideas??

    Thanks

    Paul

    Thanks! Z9109 !!

Should have checked date of death on CWGC!

BTW I found one entry saying Hurricane crashed 29th Feb 1941! Australian Archives has 29th Feb 1943!

It was actually 29th Feb 1944 (Hurricane AG327)

    Paul,

Pitifully, the AWM ROH, and the DVA Nominal Roll still show Gilmour's death as occurring on 28-2-1941.
