    Default Pickard & Broadley

    Hello all,

Can anyone tell me if Group Captain P.C. Pickard flew with 9 and 99 Squadrons?

I believe he was flying a Wellington of 99 Squadron that ditched in the sea ...

... and that his navigator Flt Lt J A Broadley met up with him at 9 Squadron in May 1941,(http://www.chrishobbs.com/pickardcharles.htm) but haven't read anywhere that Pickard flew with both squadrons.

    Thanks,

    Jim.

    Hi Jim,

Pickard was with 99 Sqn from April 1940 where he met Broadley, and with 9 Sqn from March 1941. Their flying partnership begun on 27 April during a thirty minute engine test flight.

    Begard,
    Michal

Thanks for your help Michal and Henk.

(by the way, the cut and paste was not from the L*st B*mbers site so breach of board policy not intended! )

You carried out a deliberate cut and paste from a site that parasites the entry on Lost Bombers without giving source. The end result was the same, I have made it clear in the sticky at the top of each forum index page that I will not fund any display of text from that internet site..

    Ross,

My last comment was to explain that I did not deliberately intend to break the forum rules as you seem to be inferring. I have read your sticky and respect your wishes regarding the Lost Bombers website.

However, if sites such as the one I cut and pasted from do not give source, how can anyone be sure that they don't 'parasite' the Lost Bombers entries without actually checking every entry on THAT site?

I suppose the best way to avoid situations like this is not to cut and paste at all unless 100% sure of the source.

I have found this forum highly informative and helpful, and would not jeopardise my membership by purposely flaunting the board policy.

    Jim.
