Default Senior Aircraftwoman, Sharon Anne Morgan

The above lady, stationed at RAF Coningsby, died from Multiple Injuries as a result of an accident on 9th April 1988 and is buried in Coningsbury Cemetery, Lincolnshire.

The place of death is described on her D.C. as " Farm Track off Woolsthorpe Road, Muston" and registered in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Is it possible that anyone may have further specific details of the cause and type of accident?

    Grateful for any assistance.

    Tony

May have been a gliding accident. A google search reveals a Sharon Morgan trophy presented by the Four Counties Gliding Club.

If you use the Guadian/Observer Archives and put Sharon <AND> Morgan <AND> Glider into The observer you get headline:

    GLIDER DEATH

    Observer 1791-2000

    Sunday, April 10, 1988
    Page: 1
    Section: Front page

You have to pay around 8.00 for 24 hour pass for details but yes Glider Death!!!

    Martin and Paul

Thank you both. That satisfies my enquiry and saves me joining the Four Counties Gliding Club Forum.

I was intrigued by the 'Place' of the accident a Farm Track, could have been a farm tractor. I may pursue it further later but the enquiry list is mounting up.

    Regards, Tony
