    Hi Colin,

    BE696 - ME - Mk.IIE: struck off charge 5.7.42 as lost by enemy action, no further details.

    I thank you for that. A great help.

    I believe that BE696 could be the aircraft in which AUS404184 P/O Charles William Parry PERSSE RAAF, of No.274 Sqn, lost his life on 11-6-1942.

    The incident has been discussed a couple of times in the past.

    Alan Storr persists in identifying Persse's Hurricane as BE864. (Storr: Vol.7. 201 to 300 Sqns. p.277 of 308).

    I am sorry I can not help you more BUT BE864 is nonsense!

    According to A-B serial book BE720-BF303 374 cancelled Avro-built Blenheims...
