Default Identify 54 sqn Siskin Bailout 29th April 1930

Can anyone suggest an ID for the AW Siskin of 54 Sqn that F/O T.B. Byrne bailed out of on 29th April 1930 at Hornchurch?

It would be a Dual Control AW Siskin III

    Kind Regards
    Paul

    PS

    Might be one of following
    J9201
    J7146
    J9197
    J7156

with J7156 being my current favourite but without access to J Serials I can't check!

Having checked said book none of your possibilities appear to be the aircraft involved , certainly no details are listed for an accident at Hornchurch ? In the rear of the book is an 'Unidentified Crashes' listing which includes ; 29 April 1930 , Siskin IIIA , 54 Sqdn , wing collapsed and pilot abandoned at 1,500' half a mile from Hornchurch . F/O TB Byrne parachuted safely .

Noting your new information, do you happen to have access to T B Byrneís logbook?

He is of interest to my research into the wartime history of Tiger Moth N6946 (now G-AOEI) because he is recorded in the ORB of 81 Squadron as having flown her extensively in France in the autumn/winter of 1939.

Sorry No, don't have Byrne Log Book - My interest is in pre war parachute incidents and that's why I was looking at Thomas Brian Byrne

    Many thanks Paul

I have a photo which I am 99.9% sure shows TBB during his time with 81 (Communications) Squadron in France in early 1940. It comes from the logbook of D A Smith which is preserved at TNA. If it is of interest please let me know. (Sorry but I donít know how to post a URL for a photo).
