    Hi
Sad to hear, he was a very nice guy to speak with,we had talked and discussed his time on whirlwinds.
His crash was march 11 1941 not March 11 1942.
From memory I thought he went on to fly spitfires, before going to ops,
But it might be my memory, my notes are packed.
I seem to recall, he told me,unfortunately, when he had the whirlwind crash, whilst he was away from the unit, his logbook and a few things disappeared, before he returned to the unit.
    cheers
    Jerry
