Default Looking for info about Lancaster PB667 MG-Q 7 squadron RAF

Last week constructors found a Motor and 2 propellors of the Lancaster MK.III serial PB667 – MG-Q which crashed near our village on 20 march 1945.
All the crewmembers where killed in this crash.

    Crew:
RAAF 62186 FO Bacon, L P, Captain (Pilot)
    RAF(VR) 1592648 Sgt H McClements, (Flight Engineer)
    RAF(VR) 1652888 Flt Sgt R R Evans, (Navigator)
    RAF(VR) 154615 FO Huttlestone, G H (Bomb Aimer)
RNZAF 455771 WO P A Tennant, (Wireless Operator)
    RAF(VR) 2210978 Sgt J A Cornwall, (Mid Upper Gunner)
    RAF(VR) 1869191 Sgt J E Taylor (Rear Gunner)

I’ll try to write an article about this incident. The site on which the plane was found will be used to build houses in the near future.
We have asked the “gemeente Borsele” to name de site “Lancaster” and name some streets after crew members.
On the site we want to place a symbol to mark the accident. I’m searching for more information about the crew and the plane.
The function of the plane was “pathfinder” on a raid at Recklinghausen. Can you tell me what this means. Did the plane carried boms or just flares ore something else.
Is there detailed info about the plane… which type of motor… The Motor we found is damaged on the front and back site
Is there a picture of the plane with the crew???

All information you have about the plane/crew is welcome.

    Hi,
Thanks for that information, and i sincerely hope that the contractors take your suggestion about the naming of the site and roads seriously, as a lasting monument to these men.
    Best wishes..........Alan.
