    Default Whitley N1466

You will need to consult the ORB to confirm that this forced landing took place in Northumberland. The reason is in Derek Waltons book there are a few mistakes. There is no Air Ministry Form 1180 for this forced landing, there is an Air Ministry Form 1183 for this incident and this form was used for forced landings only.On the 1183 there is no pilots name and the location stated was Warren Hill,Newmarket and the cause of the forced landing was a lack of fuel.

Whitley Aircraft Crash Log by Nick Roberts , self published in March 1978 also gives Warren Hill , Northumberland as the location and details as in #4 . It also lists N1466 still with 58 Sqdn as suffering an u/c collapse on landing at Topcliffe on return from Ops , 23:30 hrs , 16 November 1940 Cat M .

    Hi Dave,
That now gives Warren Mill, Northumberland &/or Warren Hill, Newmarket/Northumberland.

Does anyone have access to the 58 Sqn ORB?
Can anyone list the crew for 06/09/1940?

    Kind regards

    Chris
