    Default Stirling N6021, 15 September 1941, Hamburg

Looking for any information on the loss of this Stirling and crew - I know the crew were shot down by Walter Geislinger (any info on him and his fate would also be welcome), and had a crash a month before they were lost.

    Thanks

    Hi Alistair,

According to Theo Boiten's book on nightfighters, that was Walter Geislinger's only victory, he survived the war.

    Regards,

    John.

    Hi Alistair,
The aircraft was lost on a raid directed at Hamburg, the only one Stirling lost on that raid. Martyn Ford-Jones, the XV Sqn historian may be able to help you. Contact thro' http://www.mildenhallregister.stirlingpilot.org.uk
