    Default F/Lt L J B Buckley DFC 105 Squadron

    Hello,

I would like to know if F/Lt Lawrence Jacques Brindejont Buckley DFC 156107 was a pilot, and if he was in 105 Squadron in June 1944.
It seems that he died in 2009 in South Africa.
    Was he from SAAF ?

Thank you for your help .
    Alain.

There was a Lawrence J B Buckley born/registered in 1922 in Wincanton district, Devon / Cornwall area.

I'd say that would be him, three christian names.

    Hello Alain
F/L Buckley was not posted to 105 Squadron until June 24/44, before that he was at 1655 MTU at Warboys for Oboe training. I think he did that familiarisation flight with the Wing Commander you are researching while he was at 1655 MTU. I have a logbook from a pilot who also did Oboe training at 1655 MTU and one of the exersizes in the training schedule was "familiarisation".
    Regards
