    Default LODGE, Kenneth Anthony (1514272) - Martinet JN496 11.11.1943

    Dear All,

Can anyone confirm if LODGE, Kenneth Anthony (1514272) was lost as the TTO in Martinet JN496 of No.8 A.G.S., Evanton on the 11.11.1943? The aircraft crashed 3 miles North of Dornoch, Sutherland following the dropping of a drogue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Tim

I have looked at the District of Dornoch death register and it records that Lodge and Richard Winterbottom were killed as the result of war operations at a place that looks like 'Heath Horrocks', but the copy is hard to read. I had the location as Skelbo Crossroads. I have a contact in Tain who might have local knowledge nd be able to pinpoint the place.

    regards

EDIT another look at the register, and it could say 'Skelbo Crossroads'

    DaveW,

Many thanks for the confirmation on Kenneth Lodge, the AM1180 also appears to say Skelbo Cross Rds, as this is incident is not far from me I will ask a couple of local gents if they recall the accident.

    Once again many thanks.
