    Default Gladiator pilots personal markings

    Hi,

I'm working on colour side views for Vol 2 of my Gladiator book, to be published by Mushroom Model Publications later this year.

I would like to include a small section of cockpit scrap views that show Gladiator pilots personal markings.

For example Plt Off Sid Linnard, 80 Sqn, had a marking in the shape of a pipe with Hitlers head coming from it. Pat Pattle had his family crest just behind the cockpit, while Bill Vale had his family coat-of-arms on his Gladiator.

If anyone can provide similar information on other pilots I would be grateful.

    Regards,

    Alex

    Default Bill Vale

    HI Alex

Bill Vale's Gladiator carried Framlingham College coat-of-arms, not anything to do with his family! Apart from the fact that he attended the college and his father was PTI etc. Check 'Gladiator Ace' for picture.

    Cheers

    Hi Alex,

I guess that you also have the elephant from Joe Fraser's N5627 (http://surfcity.kund.dalnet.se/commonwealth_fraser.htm)?

    Hi Håkan,

Yes, I was sent a colour photo of the plaque by his family.
