Luftwaffe Flak Reports

Am I correct to think that Luftwaffe Flak units kept detailed records.
Do these records still exist and if so where are they kept?

Hi Andy,

I asked a similar question once about flak units in the Normandy area. Someone at the Brittany Aviation Forum replied with some details of unit dispositions but he said there was a lot of movement of these units and more details were hard to track.

My interest is in the Flak-Regiment 129 who I belive were based at Dunkirk in May 1944 and are most likley responsible for bringing down the 127 squadron pilot W/O Pearson on 30 May 1944. He disapeared on a shipping recee after encountering heavy flak from Dunkirk.

You may find what you search in the German military archives in Freiburg.

The part of the archives where you may find the unit history you are searching:
"RL 12. Verbände und Einheiten der Flakartillerie"

Then you will have to find the precise roll you are searching.

For example:
RL 12/76 is the war diary of Flak Rgt 155 (W), that was firing V1 on England.
RL 12/457 is the war diary of Flak Rgt 102
