    Default 3(P)AFU Oxford - 2-8-1943

    Hello,

Seeking a serial for a 3(P)AFU Oxford which crashed at Quarry Farm, Wrington, Somerset, on 2-8-1943. The solo pilot, AUS418053 Sgt Robert Nodin Plessay BROWN RAAF, was killed.

Alan Storr (Vol.23. p.367 of 508), quotes the Oxford serial as IL218, which is obviously incorrect.

    Appreciate any help.

    Col.

    DaveW,

Appreciate your help. LX218 makes sense (Oxford I LX218). I have another independent source which also quoted IL218, so it is probably derived from a corrupted casualty signal.

    Thanks,

    Col.
