Default Help needed with possible RAF Hunsdon casualties

    Hello all,

    I'm looking for details of of the deaths the following three;

AC2 Ivor George HOOK d.25/10/42 registered at Ware, Herts.

    and

AC1 Barbara Dorothy SEEAR (WAAF) d.27/10/42

    AC2 George Callander COUPLAND d. 7/1/43

both registered at Bishops Stortford, Herts.

Would they have been based at RAF Hunsdon?

None of them were assigned to a squadron and there is no mention of them in the station ORB, although there is a two week gap in the records at the time of the deaths of AC2 Hook and AC1 Seear.

    Thanks,

    Jim.

    Default

... another name to add to the list:

    Name: NAYLOR, KEITH TURTON
    Initials: K T
    Nationality: United Kingdom
    Rank: Sergeant
    Regiment/Service: Royal Air Force
    Age: 24
    Date of Death: 07/03/1942
    Service No: 536822
Additional information: Son of Edwin Turton Naylor and Maude Isabel Naylor, of Wavertree, Liverpool.

    (Death registered at Bishops Stortford)

I've checked the Hunsdon and Sawbridgeworth ORB's which again show nothing.

Would the police have records of military accidents or was it kept 'in house'? Not sure where else to go with these ones....maybe a trip back to the NA to see if they were attached to squadrons after all (which would have been 85 and 3 at that time)
I think the 1180's have details if an individual has an accident with an aircraft so that may be another avenue.

    Jim.
