    Default Death airmen -day - 14-6-1943

    What were the place of death and aircraft for killed on active service:
    F/Lt Gordon Thompson Langley (83713) - pilot 68 Sqn RAF
    F/O Jack Reade (129166) - obs 68 Sqn RAF
    aircraft losses Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VIF - V???? (WM - ?)

    I don't know the aircraft but they were registered in North Walsham in Norfolk.

    Hi Henk,

    No.9 (C)OTU ORB

    14 June 1943
    Beaufighter (Pilot - Sgt Phillips) T.3321 crashed on landing at 1530 hrs. Pilot unhurt.

    F1180 confirms P/O Miller as sole fatality of No.132 OTU Beaufighter.

    Hurricane , N2457 55 OTU , Non Fatal Crash , P/O John Downes RAAF 420162 , Sustained slight Injuries admitted to SSQ, as a Result of flying accident ,involving Hurricane N2457,

    Hello,

    To follow up Phill's post, John DOWNES, RAAF 420162, was killed in action on 8th February 1944 in Hawker Hurricane Mk IV KZ607 BR-F, No. 184 Squadron. That's the last front-line Squadron Hurricane to be lost in my research area (northern France), and the following month, No. 184 Squadron converted to Typhoons.

    I had DOWNES's file digitised in the NAA when I was researching him.
