Default Cause of Death, WO Stanley John Biggs, 7 Jan 1944

I have record of 1263193 WO Stanley John Biggs (ex-41 Sqn), who was posted to 229 Sqn on 5 Jul 1943 and attached to 335 Wing at Catania, 26 Nov-4 Dec 1943. He is last mentioned on patrol in a Hurrcane on 30 Dec 1943, but is then listed as having died on 7 Jan 1944, aged 23. He is buried in the Protestant Menís Section of Capuccini Naval Cemetery on Malta.

Can anyone provide me a cause of death, please? KIA? KIFA? Other accident or illness?

    Thanks
    Steve

    Steve,
I've him on Spitfire JK889; perhaps Kevin from Malta may confirm.

Thanks Henk; that's more information than I had. A flying accident, I presume?
