Greetings All,

Something for myself this time

I went to RAF Homesley South , Hampshire with the Air Training Corps as a treat for good attendance during the doodlebug raids, this was for the Christmas 1944 break.

The Station Commander was a Group Captain who was confined to a wheelchair and I remember he allowed us lads to stay up at the dance on the station until quite late. Loads of wonderful food flown over from Canada by a Canadian Squadron at the Station.

Does anyone know this Group Captainís name or anything about him please, could it have been war wounds confining him to the wheelchair? Most interested.

Thanks,

Digger.
