    Default Sgt Haigh

Can anybody confirm that Sgt Haigh who left 79 Squadron on April 6th 1941 is the same as Sgt John Hope Shaw Haigh (61246) who flew off Ark Royal on April 27th and joined 261 Squadron on Malta and later flew with 127 and 80 Squadron?

    TIA

    I don't think it is.
Leading Aircraftman John Hopeshaw Haigh was commissioned as a Pilot Officer on promotion on 20 January 1941 (sen 3.1.41) as published in The London Gazette Issue 35114 published on the 21 March 1941.

On a similar note and I have asked this before does anyone know what caused JH Haigh's death on 3 January 1943. The CWGC lists his unit as 80 Sqn, he has no known grave but there is nothing about his loss in the 80 Sqn ORB.

    Regards
    Andy
