Default Fly Off Edward Henry Lomas 157 Sqn

    Hi,

Fly Off Edward Henry Lomas, 152644 was lost on 29th Sept 1944 when his Mosquito was shot down by a Bf109 off Lowestoft.

Would this be the same Sgt E H Lomas from 3 Sqn whose Gladiator, K6150 crashed into the front garden of a house on Lyndhurdt Road, Hove, Sussex on 24th January 1938?

The London Gazette has an Edward Henry Lomas who was commissioned as a Pilot Officer on Probation (Emergency) on 19th July 1943, although it has him as a LAC (1474139).

The Times reported the pilot of the aircraft crash in 1938 as Ernest Lomax, not Lomas.

    This could be him:

    Hi Amrit,

Thanks for the info. That's probably why I couldn't find him when I search The Times archives.
