    Default Bomber Command Memorial

    Hi all,

I except some of you already read about the approval for the Bomber Command Memorial in Londen but for those who did not hear about it see:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/rafbombercommand/7721453/Bomber-Command-veterans-celebrate-after-memorial-approval.html

A beautiful recognise for all those brave men.

    Mike

Yes, Mike, after all these years and the many months endeavouring to get some support or other to get a memorial erected it is finally going to happen, in spite of opposition local to the Green Park site. Although I am in the UK, I will not be able to visit it but I am looking to television coverage of the opening. Please don't let us forget that about 50% of fellow aircrew ( I was one in 1945 ) failed to return.

    Default At last

We mustnt forget that we still need to raise money for this very special memorial... I sent some money off last week. It is such a pity that someone cant get you down there Hugh cos people like you should be there.
I shall be watching for the date like a hawk though I am sure that Bomber Command Assn will let me know as I am an associate member.

Try Googling RAF News and you will find a photograph of the clay figures of seven aircrew to be bronzed and installed in the BC Memorial.
