There is no mention of 53 OTU in his logbook.

    Hi Phil

Are you sure 53 OTU is correct? I have a detail that says he was a flying instructor with 61 OTU.

Whilst in this role, he had a mid-air collision with Flt Lt Robert G. Kleimeyer. Bache was flying Gladiator K7927 and Kleimeyer Gladiator K8045. This occurred during filming of ‘Signed with their Honour’, 2 miles SW of Ardleen, Powys, Wales, 8 Nov 1943.

    Regards
