    Default Vickers Wellington X3662

This aircraft of 20 OTU came down in the Minch off Dunvegan Head on 8 October 1943.

I presume the a/c was operating from Lossiemouth but I only hve details for two of the crew:
    PO W.Head RCAF (J/26309) aged 21
Sgt WJ Sadler RAFVR (1893262) aged 22

    - who were washed up in Orkney and Norway respectively.

Can anybody list the other crew members and confirm Lossie as the base?

    Hi Malcolm,

Bill Chorley`s Bomber Command Losses Vol 7 OTUs has the following:

T/o Lossiemouth for a navigation sortie. Base - Penhros - Carlisle - McDuff - Base, Crashed at circa 06.00 hrs off Dunvegan Head, NW Skye. Hailing from Sherman in Texas, F/S Smith RCAF and 3 of his crew are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial, While Sgt Howl RCAF and Sgt Saddler lie in Lerwick New Cemetery and Trondheim (Stave) Cemetery respectively.

    Crew:

    F/S G.F.SMITH RCAF.
    F/S E.M.ANDERSON. RCAF.
    P/O A.W.HOWL. RCAF.
    F/L J.A.PUTTOCK. RAF.
    SGT W.J.SADDLER. RAF.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards
    Dave.

PS. I looked on CWGC and found Howl in Lerwick, Shetland, and Saddler is as you have the spelling with just one `D` he is in Trondheim.
