The relevent AB serial register gives the crash site as 9 miles WNW of Oldenburg and listed as 'Missing' on the Hamburg raid . Chorley lists the crew of 6 as 5 killed and 1 POW but no reason for the loss but is more specific with the crash location as Bad Zwischenahn , 14 Km WNW of Oldenburg .

    Thanks David

I know the late Emil Nonnenmacher had access to all manner of Flak Abt records, does anybody know what became of them or were they in an archive ?

The crew's obituaries ("They Shall Grow Not Old") state: Wellington aircraft shot down & crashed near Bad Zwischenahn, Germany.
The only survivor, Sgt. N.J. Welwood (RCAF) would most likely have been debriefed, re. the downing, following his repatriation. The details of the downing would be found in this doc.
The deceased crew members now rest in the Sage War Cemetery, Oldenburg, Land Niedersachsen, Germany.

    Pete,

Sorry I can't be of any further help on the de-briefing report but, perhaps Hugh Halliday (Look him up on these forums) would be able to direct you to the proper dept. @ the National Archives in Ottawa??
    Try sending him a P.M.
    Paul
