Default Info request: RAF casualties' details?

    Hi all

I'm after some more information on some further RAF losses, as follows:

BEWICK, John Winship, 124853, F/O, 295 Sqn. MIA 19th July 1944. Commemorated on the memorial at Northumbria Police HQ, Ponteland, Northumberland, and on the Malta Memorial.

GIBSON, William Stanley, 1526809, Sgt (Nav), died March 1st 1943. Buried in Stamfordham (St. Mary) Churchyard, Northumberland.

HALL, Ernest, 172562, P/O, 40 Sqn. KIA 7th July 1944. Buried at Klagenfurt War Cemetery, Austria. Commemorated on the memorial at Northumbria Police HQ, Ponteland, Northumberland.

    POPLAWSKI, A, (Polish) - done

    ROBINSON, Robert Elmer - done

    ROSS, Theo Gilson - done

    WIRE, John Heron - done

And the following post-war casualties, if anyone can help with them:

COX, J J, 1909114, Sgt, died 8th August 1957. Buried in Stamfordham (St. Mary) Churchyard, Northumberland.

MARSHALL, W F, Flight Lt, died 4th March 1957. Buried in Stamfordham (St. Mary) Churchyard, Northumberland.

THOMAS, J F, Pilot, died 14th August 1962. Buried in Stamfordham (St. Mary) Churchyard, Northumberland.

EDIT: more names added, all from Morpeth War Memorial. I've been through the CWGC lists for these ones, so they all have service numbers, Squadrons and last resting places where appropriate.

Can anyone elaborate on the circumstances of these losses:

BUSHBY, John, 514451, Flt Sgt. Died 22nd October 1945. Buried at Morpeth (St Mary and St James) Churchyard, Northumberland.

MOORE, Arthur John, 778391, Sgt, 106 Sqn, MIA 30th November 1941. Commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.

ROUTLEDGE, James Vincent, 754073, Flt Sgt, 608 Sqn. MIA 17th March 1942. Commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.

    Many thanks indeed.

    Regards

    Simon

Thanks for filling in the dates and names for the two names on the Police memorial.

With the additional info, I've found Bewick was with 295 Sqn, which at the time of his death was flying Halifaxes ferrying gliders to North Africa on Operation Beggar.
