    Default 401 Squadron - January 1943

    Hello,

I have not logged in there for a while and I apologize if some of you did not receive any answer to the PM they sent to me!

Now I'm coming with another series of requests regarding some pilots of 401 Squadron.

First, I'm looking for any picture on which at least one of these pilots appears:

    - P/O L.G. COONS
    - S/P Cyril Branston COHEN
    - P/O Harold Andrew WESTHAVER
    - S/P A.E. GRAY
    - S/P P.K. GRAY

I would also like to find the complete Christian names of P/O COONS and Sergeants GRAY & GRAY. The ranks indicated above are valid for the beginning of January, 1943 (the pilots might have been promoted later on).

Then, I'm looking for their 'regimental' numbers plus those of another list of men (same Squadron, same period):

    - S/L Keith Louis Bate HODSON
    - S/P John A. CHAPIN
    - P/O Hugh Constant GODEFROY

Eventually, is there a chance that I can find the serials and codes carried by their aircraft at the beginning of January, 1943?

Thank you very much for your help, Gentlemen.

    Fox.

    Default P/O H C Godefroy

    G'day

J3701 Pilot Officer Hugh Constant Godefroy

Just a couple of points of interest.

While Godefroy was with No. 410 'Ram' Squadron, he flew Spitfire Mk. Vb s/n AA866 and coded YO*R

While Wing Commander Flying (No. 127 (F) Wing), his Spitfire Mk. IX coded HC*G

While with No. 83 (Composite) Group his Spitfire Mk. IX was carried his personal code HC*G
*Combat Codes questions if this aircraft was s/n PL201.

    Cheers...Chris
