    Gents

    Can anyone please confirm that L8857 was indeed a Blenheim, and additionally can anyone advise the History of the airframe.

    Blenheim IV, L8857
    222/114
    Lost in France 5.40

    If anyone has access to Battle of France then and Now, or Blenhiem the complete History it might say more

    picture of wreckage with german soldiers on page 233 on Battle of Britain then and now. text indicates probably lost Oban attack on a French airfield while with 114 Sqn will need to read rest of text to find out date

    I believe this aircraft to have been one of those with 114 Squadron that was destroyed or damaged beyond repair in a Luftwaffe attack on the airfield at Conde-Vraux on 10/05/40.

    Battle of France by Peter Cornwall confirms attack on May 11th 1940. 6 Blenheims were destroyed but serials unknown. The picture of L8857 in the book is from a different angle but definately the same aircraft
