Can anyone give me the details for this loss please? He was flying out of RAF Manston, Kent at this point in the war.

Hi

He was killed whilst flying in Hurricane IIB, BE144 of No 615 Sqn, which was shot down off Ostend by flak during a shipping recce.

Thanks Malcolm, he and the other pilot, Boulanger, posted into 615 on the same day as my man, P/O Arthur Stephen, so I was just following their fates for my story.

I confirm he was flying BE144. He had taken off at 1710 from Manston. Another pilot was lost on that mission, F/Sgt Gooderham in Hurricane IIC Z3841.
