Default 120 Sqn ORB for April 4/5, 1943

Does anyone have access to this Sqn's ORB for these dates?

I am researching the passage of Convoy HX-231 and have just finished reading the account written by Sir Peter Gretton. In it he states that the convoy received good service from the squadron's VLR Liberators flying out of Iceland.

The ship I am interested in was sunk in the early morning of April 5 and I believe they were still out of range of air cover and/or the weather was too bad for flying.

Can someone tell me what the entries for those dates say?

Thanks. I will post a note about the book on the other side of the forum. It's a good read.

    David:
Are you interested in 206 Sqn's activities around HX-231 on April 7? I don't see anything in the 220 Sqn ORB although both Fortress units were active around HX-232.

    Hi Rob,

According to the account by Vice-Admiral Gretton (escort commander for HX-231) the other squadron involved was No. 86. But, being based in the UK, their role came when the convoy entered their coverage area and after the incident I am looking at, which was actually in the infamous "air gap" on the night of April 4/5.

    Hi David:
OK - let me know if you need the 206 Sqn ORB pages.
    Cheers:
