Default Unknown Unknown NZ pilot from 617sqn around Operation Chastise

    Hello All,

I am curious as to who the Pilot is behind HM King George VI?

He has a NZ pilots brevet.

With possibly an Australian Observer? (Darker uniform? Or a trick of the light?)

If you google ''617 sqn King George VI'' it is the fourth photo. HM is bending over and viewing a recce photo trough a stereoscope (maybe?)

    All help apprecieated.

    God bless from

    Russ,

Doesn't work for me - just a lot of rubbish about Tornadoes.

You need to be more specific and quote the site address.

It's on the RAF site under campaign histories - Operation Chastise.

    Hello,

The Australian "Observer" pictured is: AUS406248 F/Lt Cecil Lancelot HOWARD DFC RAAF, Navigator in F/Sgt W C Townsend's crew (Lancaster ED886:AJ-O), on the Dams raid.

    What do you think?
