Hi Col, Thank you for prompt reply. Do you know:
A, identification code and marks Beaufighter?
    B, time take-off?
    C, time landing?

    Evening all,
Does anyone have the identity of that Beaufighter, please?

Two nights earlier (20th) W/O Welch and Sgt Nairn in BF X7551 (code?) attacked a Ju88 or a HeIII sometime between between 20.00hrs and 20.58hrs.

I have two III./KG40 Heinkels lost that night and wondering is there a connection.
    HeIII F8+DS wnr.4394 and HeIII F8+GT wnr. 3528.
    Many thanks
    Tony K

    Thank you all.
Just missing the icing on the cake. Do not know the signs Beaufighter crew F/O Winward - Sgt Wood (22.10.1941). He knows someone identification mark?
    Destruction HE111 W / O Welch - Sgt Nairn (X7551) on October 20, 1941 is really sure?
I did not find it anywhere ! I can not believe it.
    Regards

Hi all, Winward and Wood were in R2261 and had taken off from RAF Valley. I've got the combat report if you want Pavel - just drop me an email.

The ORB simply states "1 JU88 damaged" for Welch and Bennett's combat.

    Cheers, Tom

I have a big mess. Tony writes, quote: Two nights earlier (20th) W/O Welch and Sgt Nairn in BF X7551 (code?) attacked a Ju88 or a HeIII sometime between between 20.00hrs and 20.58hrs. (I did not find it anywhere !)
Thorne writes, quote: The ORB simply states "1 JU88 damaged" for Welch and Bennett's combat.- I found 25.10.1941 W/O Welch - P/O Bennett R2185 (WM-X) damaged Ju88. Is this it?

    Hi Pavel/Tony,

now that i have more time to peruse the ORB i can see from the summary that:

W/O Welch and P/O Bennett (not Nairn) 'damaged one JU88' while flying Beaufighter X7551 on the 22nd October (the 22 is very hard to read, but looking more closely the date above is clearly a 21 and the one below 22). Time up is 20.00 but time down is impossible to read.

W/O Welch did not fly on the 20th October according to the ORB.

Confusingly, Welch and Bennett flew in R2185 on the 28th (not 25th!) and no mention of a damaged JU88 either!

    Cheers, Tom

Ps. Pavel - email to follow
