    Default Security Matters

If Ross will permit. I have come across an interesting side to the Phoney War of late 1939/early 1940. (Health Warning: this is only for those on this Forum who have worked either in a uniformed, or civilian, capacity, in the RAF/Air Ministry/MoD)
From "Churcill's Wizards" by Nicholas Rankin - a 'good read' by the way!!.
It was made known (by the fledgling UK propaganda/deception agencies) in early 1940 that the RAF had dropped "over 2 million leaflets into occupied Europe". An American newspaper correspondent asked if he could have a copy of one of the leaflets. The Civil Servant said that he was afraid that he couldn't release any information "that might be of use to the enemy". To which the American correspondent retorted "But they've already got 2 million copies".
Nothing changes! I fell about when I read that until I nearly cried - thus the Health Warning above!!
