There seems to be a Daisy Hill in both Northumberland (Newcastle area) and County Durham (near Consett, where I have relatives).

The Spitfire Production site has it as Northumberland.

The late Henry Boot records this incident thus,

BL817 Vb 81 Sqn Daisy Hill Rd, Northumberland 1530 hrs. Cat E . Aerobatics. Engine failed, lost control at 2,000 ft, regained control 25 ft, crashed. Pilot not to blame. Sgt D.F.Husband R85843 (Can).

    SOC 23 May 1942

A second unpublished source also quotes Northumberland.

    Regards,

    Ian
