    Tim,

It looks unlikely as the death of Frank G A Sapsed, aged 22, was regd in Ilford, Essex.

Agree unlikely on Martinet MS690. Casualties on this aircraft were F/Lt John N. PUNSHON - RCAF J/14844 and F/O Leonard C. DAVIES - 162813.

Punshon aged 27 is registered in Haverford West district, pembroke per Death index.

There is a Leonard C Davies age 35 in Meridian District, Warwickshire. No age on CWGC!

Sapsed is a KOAS listing in July 1945 in Flight magazine.

My computer is gone haywire here, can't load pagges I wanted to to finish the post - will try later.

    Gents,
What means that my info on F/O L.C. DAVIES - 162813 was incorrect (?); brought his name back to my file of 'airwomen/airmen unaccounted for'.
    Regards,
    Henk.

    Martyn / Dennis / Henk,

Thank you all for your input; at least I can discount Sapsed, could Leading Aircraftman TAMBLING, William Richard (1311989) be a possible candidate?

    Kind regards,

    Tim

    Hi Tim,

Tambling is registered in Haverfordwest aged 26, so looks likely.

    Cheers,

    Tom

    Gents

For Wellington LP654 which crashed at Corley Ash, Coventry, Warks I already had as a casualty JV Billett 135865 who's death is registered at Meriden. I had a note that there was one other unknown death and Davies appears to be the missing name.

Re Sapsed, I have a note of two Mustangs lost in Essex on this day, FZ145 of 316S at Burnham on Crouch and FB187 of 122S at Bardfield for which I do not have crew names. Whether a LAC would be piloting a high powered machine I don't know, but I believe we have come across such instances before. His death is registered at Ilford which is some distance from both the crash sites, but I guess a death in hospital is possible if indeed he was involved in one of the incidents.

    regards
