The RAF Commands Chrome Browser Extension

  • What is this? Its a “Plug-in” that helps a frequent visitor to the site to use some of the research tools right in their Chrome Browser without having to visit the RAFcommands.com website.
  • How does it work? The extension appears as a small square logo right next to the address bar of your Google Chrome Browser. Clicking it will “Pop Open” a window – that will display the latest ten posts from our Forum, as well as a quick search boxes to search the Aircraft Serial Database, the CWGC Database and the London Gazette Name Search Facility. It will look like below:

  • How do I get it?  Simply visit this link – the Google Chrome Extensions Site where our Plugin is hosted. Click the “Add to Chrome” button on top right. This will enable the extension in your browser.
  • Is it safe? To quote a neighbour – 400% safe!. The extension is a simple html page that uses internet apis. It does not store cookies, nor execute any code.

Update: 31st January 2019

Right Click Context menu added – shows a “Search RAF Serial on site” option when a text is highlighted.  clicking will launch a serial number query against the highlighted text.

Update: 20 April 2022

A “Global Search” option is added to the top of the browser pop Up to make searching all DBs in one go easier!.. The right click option also brings up a “Search DB option” ..
