245 Squadron codes questionCombat Codes has the codes DX as being carried by Hurricane Mk.Is until 8.41, then by Mk.IIB until January 1943. It also has the codes MR being carried by by Hurricane Mk.IIB from 8.41 to 1.43, then by Typhoons. Fighter Squadrons of the RAF has only MR codes for Hurricane Mk.IIs, from 8.41, and there is nothing in the description of the unit's history to explain this anomaly. It is not clear to me what the ? is meant to imply, but it may be just that. ....Read More.Graham Boak on 20th March 2012 01:04:04

I have also seen it applied to a Beaufighter. Ian ....Read More.ian94avenge on 21st March 2012 11:01:36
