100 Group Mosquito damaged in combat 26/27 October 1944 off Fresian Isles.Hi Laurent, thanks for your post. The combat report for the 166 squadron Lanc J2 ME648 says the combat took place on 26 October during a Minelaying sortie Fresian Isles at 1948 hrs 11,000ft 073 T 5400N 0810E just as they were about to lay their mines. Rear Gunner claimed strikes on nose and leading edge. The 1 Group summary talks about the Mosquito pilot reporting an A.I contact (which fits in with your post),closing and being engaged by a Lancster or Halifax a/c.The report goes on to say "It is considered that in view of the persistency of the fighter the rear gunner was justified in opening fire" I think it was a 10 Group Mossi from 151 squadron and they have got the date wrong and the incident was 'sanitised' in the squadron records !
