POW ETO Google-sheet Missing dataHello All, There are, currently, 14072 Rows of data on the ETO POW experimental Google-sheet. The last 5-digit a/c s/n is Z9824. This is at Row 9171. I am quietly working my way down the (alphanumeric sorted s/n) sheet allocating “Type” of mission termination data. I am currently at Row 5063 – so, just over half-way! There is a significant number of errors in the original data (dictation/typo/poor OCR/and plain wrong!). I can correct many of these. There are a number of other Members working – from time to time – on this. Their help is tremendous! Jagan keeps an eye on the Google-sheet. There are some items of missing data (usually Forenames and/or Service Numbers) that my expertise/ability will not allow me to discover/correct! Thus my posting small batches of these ‘unknowns’ in the hope that, particularly, the Unit historians/researchers who may have access to sites/books/docs which I don’t have can produce the missing answers! The next lot is below! We are grateful for any corrections! EDWARDS ???? L H 0 1940-05-20 LAC RAF 25 OTU ???? AIR 81/1073 DC N2805 SHAW ???? R B 0 1940-09-13 Sgt RAF 40 Sqdn???? POW ETO Google-sheet Missing dataPaul, and Peter Yes, something doesn't add up. Sorry if I've confused things! Either he's the Edwards on N2805 on September 11th 1941 and the May 20th 1940 date is wrong, or he is indeed L. H. Edwards and became a P.o.W. on May 20th 1940 and the N2805 reference is indeed spurious as you point out Paul. Regards Simon ....Read More.wwrsimon on 22nd February 2021 01:02:52
