Born in Stepney, London, April 1919; educated at Ernest Bailey Secondary School, Matlock, and Sir John Cass Technical Institute, Aldgate. Home in Killburn, London. Enlisted 1940 (1375299); commissioned 8 November 1941. Flying Officer, 1 October 1942. Flight Lieutenant, 8 November 1943. Acting Squadron Leader when killed in action with No.156 Squadron, 23 April 1944 (Lancaster ND409, shot down by a night fighter). Following text from Air Ministry Bulletin 8877. Flying Officer Glasspool has proved himself to be an exceptionally able navigator. He has taken part in many sorties, including attacks on the Gnome-Rhome Works, Wandemunde and Dusseldorf from comparatively low heights. By his skill and determination, Flying Officer Glasspool contributed materially to the successes obtained.
