Blenheim - aircraft serialHi, Don't know if this is the aircraft or event but - 18th March 41. 59 Sqn Blenheim IV Serial number V5533 Coded "TR-V" Crew safe. Op: Pirate 2 The U/C collapsed at Marham following a heavy landing in mist on return from patrol. The landing caused a flare to catch fire which then ignited the bomb load destroying the Blenheim. Perhaps you man was injured and died later ? he is not listed as crew, they were P/O. Munro, Sgt Hunt and Sgt. Hales. 59 Sqn lost two a/c on the 26th March , TR-A and F. And then on the 30th March another TR-A was lost. So if not involved in the a crash he must have been in an a/c that was later repaired. Other TR-V's in 1941 lost before the 25th March were R2783 and R3635. I note also there was a Sgt. Buckley involved in a 502 Sqn Whitley crash on the 13th February 41, is it at all possible that this could be the same person, if so it may help your search.( page 96, T4276 ). ref is Ross's RAF Coastal Command Losses vol 1.
