P/O T Kozak - 242 Sqn June 1941Hello all, On 14th June 1941 P/O Tomas Kozak of 242 Sqn, flying Hurricane IIB Z3247, crashed at Duxford. I believe 242 were based at North Weald at the time but had a detachment at Hunsdon between 10 - 16 June. Does anyone here know from which airfield Kozak took off from for his final flight? Thanks, Jim. ....Read More.Jim C on 19th November 2011 07:33:24
Trossy St. Maximin V1 targetHi guys Yannick Delafosse has done some great work on this for the 576 Sqn project, and he reports the following: stores site (possibly a V1 dump) to the SE of Criel; German codename ‘Martha’; crossbow code: XI/D/8 - Z3247; position 49deg12’57”N, 002deg27’07”E hope that helps! Matt ’Keeping 576 Alive’
Hi Clint In his book "Sledgehammers for Tintacks", Steve Darlow refers to Trossy as "a probable flying bomb storage site", although it seems like its precise use was unclear at the time. Stay well. Ian
....Read More.Carpe Diem on 23rd March 2020 12:34:02
