This page commemorates

Aircraftman 1st Class William GALLEY (1136557) of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve

Circumstances of Death: Drowning in Lake Timsah at Ismailia. Apparently he and some colleagues hired a boat for a sail on the lake and whilst sailing there was a sudden squall and the boat/dinghy overturned. Regrettably my father never learnt to swim and was drowned. Apparently all of his companions survived.
