Excellent, thank you very much for the information. I will have to check if Taylor is a different person or a possible typo. My pilot Tayleur was service numbers 1380093/215738 does the book list service numbers ? All were pilots who flew the first Spitfires to Malta. Tayleur survived the war, but sadly died of cancer in 1956.

Yes, the book does feature service numbers.

Its J L Taylor is recorded as 811003, so not your man after all.
