What were the places of death registration for:

A - Died on active service:
W/O (Pilot) James QUINN - 551405.

B - Not found in Flight Global:
Sgt (Pilot) John S. POWELL - 1317455.

C - Killed on active service:
Sgt (Pilot) Robert E. HARRIS - 133712 - 184 Sqn (Manston, Kent);
Sgt (Pilot) Peter R. HOPE - 1338924;
F/Lt (Nav/Instr.) Jack F. PAGE - 104497, and
W/O (Pilot) Brian C. WALMSLEY - 968165.

D - Proposed aircraft losses:
Beaufighter VI - T5130 - 9 (C)OTU - crashed on approach Crosby.
Oxford II - X7254 - 6 (P)AFU - collided with Oxford N4834 and crashed Heythrop Park, Over Norton, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.
Oxford II - N4834 - 6 (P)AFU - collided with Oxford X7254 and crashed Over Norton, Chipping Norton.
Mustang I - AP244 - 41 OTU - crashed on approach ¼ mile NE of Hawarden.
Whitley V - BD532 - 295 Sqn - crashed in forced landing near Tarrant Rushton, Dorsetshire.
Hurricane IV - KX565 - 1 SLAIS - flew into ground Mousen Barns Farm, S of Belford, Northumberland.

E - Also looking for possible cause of death of following airmen:

F/Lt Kenneth W.I. LOGAN - 89189 - 38 Sqn (Berka III, Libya), reported killed on active service and buried in the Alexandria (Hadra) War Mem. Cem., Egypt, and

F/O Ernest S. WOODHEAD - 127108 - 37 Sqn (Kairouan-Temmar, Tunisia), not found in Flight Global and buried in the Enfidaville War Cem., Tunisia.

Quinn - Grantham
Powell - Carlisle
Harris - Northumberland North First
Hope - Chipping Norton
Page - Chipping Norton
Walmsley - Chipping Norton

Powell would fit with Beaufighter T5130
Harris with Hurricane KX565
Hope, Page and Walmsley with the Oxfords.

Aircraft stalled avoiding high ground and flew into the ground while on a low flying exercise. Mousen Barns Farm, Belford.

Theres a Sgt J S Powell - Died of Wounds or Injuries recieved on active duty in cas list 288. (Oct 7th magazine)

Also, E S Woodhead is DOAS in same listing, scanned as *'/O. E. S. Woodhjad.

From No.9 (C)OTU ORB

July 22
One aircraft crashed just beyond airfield when coming into land the pilot, Sgt Powell, died the next day, the navigator Sgt Weatherman was injured.

MUSTANG AP 244 , 41 OTU 22/7/44 STALLED ON APPROACH OFF TURN AND CRASHED IN A FIELD AT 14.50 HRS NR THE 48 MU BUILDINGS HAWARDEN.
PILOT A STAFF PILOT WITH 41 OTU ,WAS SEVERELY HURT F/O SMALLPAGE

Quinn was serving with No 12 (P) AFU and was killed in a road accident on the perimeter track at RAF Grantham, but no further details have come to light so far.
