What were the places of death registration for:

AC2 William A.J. CALLARD - 1156424, missing believed killed on active service (while engaged on non-operational flying duties or on the ground through enemy action), and

Cpl Edward WADE - 533272, not listed Flight archives.

Proposed aircraft losses for this day if one of them killed in an air crash:

Roc I - L3122 - Roc Flt - crashed on landing Odiham.

Regards and thanks for your help.
Henk.

Thanks Tom for your reaction. Where is Welton located and which RAF station may be in that area ? Strange that the death of the airmen is registered at Welton, where both are missing and commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial !!

Regards,
Henk.

Hi Henk
Welton is about 10 mls NNE of the city of Lincoln and comfortably in Bomber territory. From the map it looks as if Scampton is the closest Airfield. The Runnymede entry may simply be a sad reflection that they were known to have died after a rollcall was taken following an incident, but there were no identifiable remains, perhaps from being too close to a bomb explosion.

Dick

Hi Henk,

I came across this website :-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/ww2peopleswar/stories/48/a3251648.shtml

This confirms a Bomb store explosion at RAF Scampton, killing Cpl Wade !

Alex,
Very minor point, Mohawk AR666 was a IV according to the relevant Air-Britain serials book:
AR630/AR634 Mohawk III
AR635/AR694 Mohawk IV

Thanks Andy,
Mohair IV is correct, definitely was not a Mohair III :)
I just cannot seem to print out what I actually type, the tablet seems to change words at will.
All the best
Alex
Oops see what I mean, it did it again ....

Mohawk IV not Mohair III.

Maybe this time
