Hello Gents
Does anyone know any Squadron Leader FORSTAD, a pilot in service in FE in 1945 who flew as supernumerary SL with 146 Sqn that year. Seems not to be a RAF pilot.
Any details on him like his initials, and service number would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Phil

Hi Phil,
no luck with this surname at all - in common RAF, RAAF, and RCAF sources. The only fact I was able to find out is that this surname is or was used in the UK but it is quite rare.
Are you sure with the spelling?

And in case anybody is wondering, there was no commissioned officer in the RNZAF in WW2 with that name, or anything even close to that.

Hello Pavel,
Actually I made a mistake, it is FROSTAD and not FORSTAD. Don't know if that changes anything.
Thanks

Ok I think I have a lead. Thanks to Mojmir I could verify that a F/O G.C. FROSTAD was serving 113 Sqn at the time the unit was flying on Hurricanes, I will the first name written in the site but need confirmation. It seems there is no FROSTAD in London Gazette, so does anyone know his origin and service number?
Thanks in advance

It was not RAF, neither RAAF or RNZAF, the last remaining chance was RCAF...Many thanks. Phil

And Frostad is a typical Norwegian surname.
