I plan on going to Germany this summer and would like to visit the town where my uncle's aircraft crashed in 1943. I am sure each town was different but did the town/village usually record such things. Is there a chance that records of these events were kept in a town archive or city hall. I have RAF copies of exhumation reports etc but am curious to see if there were any details kept by those on the ground.
