Hi all

I was contacted by a friend last night - a local historian - who asked if I could provide further info on an aircraft that crashed in the vicinity of Oldham Lancs on 12 Dec 1936. It would appear this was one of three aircraft to crash that evening all belonging to 102 Squadron during a flight from Aldergrove to Finningley.

Could anyone please supply any further info on the accident and confirm that the official enquiry into the mishap could only be accessed by a visit to TNA.

Many thanks

Hi Royton, I've just had a very quick search of Flight and we have the following article, that may be of interest:

http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1936/1936%20-%203428.html?search=finningley

Also:

http://www.yorkshire-aircraft.co.uk/aircraft/planes/ryedale/k5188.html

Then there is this one which identifies the crash at Dingle Farm, Oldham and the aircraft as Heyford K4874.

Google Heyford K4874 and you'll come up with more.

Cheers,

Tom
